After reading the story, Coming to America, we discussed and recorded our responses regarding the following questions:
If you were immigrating to America what do you think you would miss from your homeland?
I would miss the nature, my school, home, and surroundings.
I would miss my family,nature, food, and friends. I would also miss school.
My house because I was there so long. My family because I love them. The people in my country because I was with them so long.
I would miss my home, my family, and everything.
I would miss my friends, family, house, culture, surrounding, weather, and school.
I would miss the food, wildlife, scenery, and the people.
I would miss my friends and family. I would miss my home and all the good food.
I would miss my friends and my family, the different cultures, the different food, and I would also miss the animals and land.
I would miss my friends, family home, school, food, traditions, languages, landscape, and life.
Some of the things I would miss are: my friends, my family, my home, languages, plants, weather, and traditions.
What would you look forward to in coming to America?
I would say a better job, bigger house, more money, and better surroundings.
Meeting new friends. Also I would look forward for some land.
Eating new brands of food. Seeing new things and meeting new friends. Seeing new and meeting new people.
I would look forward to the school.
I look forward to meeting new friends, learning a new culture, seeing a new country, and meeting people from all over the world by exploring.
Exploring, discovering, seeing stuff and meeting new people.
Getting new food, getting a better life, meeting new friends, getting some free land and getting a better job.
I would look forward to some of the new food, making new friend, getting closer to relatives, and getting to see new things.
I would look forward to people, food, friends, landscape, schools, traditions, languages, fun things to do and houses.
Seeing the Statue of Liberty. Meeting new friends, and seeing new plants.
